WORD Picture – Your Workmanship is Marvelous

Garrett's Hand

This past weekend I got to hang out with my little buddy, Garrett, and had the opportunity to help him chow down.

Precious moments spent with my grandson.  The kid grabbed onto my finger while chugging his formula.  He has a pretty firm grasping reflex for being only four months old.

While feeding Garrett thoughts painted the landscape of my mind as to how each of us is wonderfully made.  I will let the following narrative speak for itself:

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!

Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me, Oh God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!  Psalm 139:13-18 (NLT)

Think about it – God’s thoughts about YOU and ME are precious, wonderful, and all encompassing!

Translated, HE IS CRAZY ABOUT US!

Much like Garrett grasping a hold of my finger, let’s grasp onto the Truth of how God sees each one of us.

In what ways do you sense God’s overwhelming love for you?

  1. That’s such a beautiful illustration of God’s love. I always tend to think of how he feels toward me as a parent – the way I feel about my children. What a wonderful analogy. Just looking at what He’s blessed me with – my husband and children and this life – I can’t help but sense His love.
