John Wooden, the late hall of fame basketball coach of the UCLA Bruins, once stated the following quote in an interview with John Maxell:
“There is a choice you have to make in everything you do. So in the end my friend, the choice you make, makes you.”
Many times we find ourselves in a position of choosing between what we “have to do” and what we might “want to do“.
We suppress the choices we make in terms of our careers and what we do to earn a living. Often times, the choices we make result in resigning ourselves to the inevitable instead of remotely entertaining the idea that we can follow our dreams and derive some fulfillment. Dreams truly are for everybody – all you need is the heart!
Want a great movie night choice?
I would encourage you to watch The Mighty Macs, the inspiring true story of the 1972 Immaculata College (now university) women’s basketball team.
In honor of you – “For every team (person) that thought they never had a chance!”
- Do you have the courage to follow your dreams?
- What is your gift to the world around you?
- Why not go for it?
