It’s Friday and we are going to detour a little and talk about food.

If breakfast is on your mind, maybe an omelet or bacon and eggs might suit you.

Perhaps you have a craving for a salad or wrap for lunch.

Dinner, or “supper” as it is referred to in my neck of the woods, offers endless possibilities.

Are you hungry for eggplant?  How do you like it prepared?

  • Deep fried?
  • In lasagna?
  • As the featured item in a salad?
  • Not at all? (My personal vote!)

Personally speaking, eating eggplant is like biting into a sponge – tasteless for sure!

If I was forced to choose, I would go the route of Eggplant Parmesan.

At least the cheese and pasta sauce would serve as a disguise and hide the main attraction.

For a healthier version check this out.

In my version of Eggplant Made Easy, check out this video clip as you head into your weekend – it’s time for a feel good story.

Hopefully, the interview will encourage you.  Below are a few sound bites:

  • “His faith has often times gotten him through…He’s showing me “Hey, I’m real”.
  • “You can cut a million eggplants and you will probably never see that again…God is..within us.  He has different ways of showing it within our lives.”
  • “I don’t know what it means…all I know is it tells me…He real… and nothing else can change my mind about that!”

Was God trying to get this man’s (or others) attention?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

I’ll defer to your judgment on the question.

One day while traveling for work, I had a similar experience. Nothing earth shattering.

To me, it was a simple reminder of His presence.

If you care to read it about it, you can do so here.

A verse comes to mind:

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets.  And now…He has spoken to us through his Son” Hebrews 1:1-2 (NLT)

The way I see it – He speaks!

The real question is – are we listening?
